Reading
Reading this was very interesting, there is a part by Caraline Neville-Lister, (I have linked the documentary about her in the 'Documentary and Film' tab), and I also found the part by Philip Hutchinson very good, it was very true to my experience. It's great to read about this through a political lense, in that psychiatry has failed so massively as it places all responsibility of the problem on the individual and fails to address the wider societal problems that cause or contribute to these issues. That part where he said "I felt that how I lived was in itself a political act; it was me expressing that I didn't fit in with how I saw the world, and I didn't care if the world was going to judge me useless." really rings true for me.
